COVID-19 Has claimed another casualty in the Highlands – this time the Industry and Innovation Forum, scheduled for Emerald tonight.
The sold-out event has been put on hold out of concern for the health and safety of those attending, in response to the recent spike in virus cases in South-East Queensland, organisers said.
The Central Highlands Development Corporation, with support of the Central Highlands Regional Council, made the call yesterday.
It is not yet known if the event will be rescheduled or cancelled.
Corporation CEO Arjan Bloemer said it was disappointing.
