A LOCAL town lit up, as a beloved charity hosted their monthly community event.
Egerton Street was all decked out last Saturday for the Twilight on Egerton Night Markets, hosted by Future Hope, a charity dedicated to bettering the lives of children, one step at a time.
The markets took up most of the street, lined by trees of fairy lights and stalls of all kinds.
The Future Hope stalls were a big feature of the event, including a Sno Cone stall that was popular with people of all ages.
There was live music, food stalls and vans, clothes, gifts and homewares among other things that drew crowds from across Emerald.
Future Hope founder Tamara Walker said they tried to space the stalls out to comply with COVID-19 regulations.
“All the stallholders I’ve spoken to said they had a really great night,” Ms Walker said.
“After each market, we adjust where we need to and get feedback from stallholders.
“We ask how we can make it more enjoyable for the community and assess what we could have done better so we keep it fresh and exciting.”
Ms Walker said they had a gold coin donation for Little Luke’s Playtime and all fundraising for Future Hope supported children in need.
“A great big thank you must go to the Emerald community,” she said.
“We will continue to make decisions to benefit everybody involved.”
