Foodworks puts out welcome mat

More than a month ago the supermarket’s implemented drive-through and home delivery services because of health concerns surrounding COVID-19.

Manager Rose Leggett said her decision to re-open the supermarket was aided by assessment from Queensland Health. Customer safety would continue to be their top priority.

“After ongoing discussions with health authorities we made the decision to once again open our doors at Foodworks,” Mrs Leggett said.

“We have installed countertop protection screens, a cleansing station at the entry of the shop, markers on the floor and around the shop, and washing your hands will be a condition of entry into the store as this will help emphasise expectations for safe social distancing.

“Under guidance from Queensland Health, we feel it is safe enough to do so for now.”

Mrs Leggett thanked the community for their patience and understanding over the past four weeks as they strive to provide a well-researched, safe environment for all.

“It goes without saying that if things change, so will we,” Mrs Leggett said. “We will adapt to whatever is required to maintain ultimate safety for all and we will continue to take guidance from health authorities.

“We have missed the face-to-face contact and look forward to a chat and giggle with you all.”
