New market for parents and kids of all ages to hit Emerald this November

The North Queensland Babies & Kids Market is a boutiquespecialist market catering to parents, babies, kids, teens, and mums to be.
“Our markets are just starting. We had to cancel the Emeraldmarket we had planned for April this year due to COVID, but now we’re operatingunder a CovidSafe plan and we’ll be holding our Christmas market in Emerald onNovember 22,” said Trisha Armstrong, the market owner and organiser.
“The Babies & Kids Market is a boutique market thatcaters so families with babies through to teens. We also cater to mums to be.We’re encouraging day cares and community groups to come along and network withfamilies.
“We’re putting on the markets so parents have everythingthey need in one place,” said Ms Armstrong.
“There will be a lot of local businesses attending, as wellas businesses from the Mackay region that will be stallholders.
“It’s an opportunity for people to shop for things that theymay not already have access to here in Emerald,” said Ms Armstrong.
“It’s not like a Rotary market, it’s more the boutique andinformation side of things so we can link families with different businesses. We want to break the community buffer between businesses and families.
“There will be plaster moulds and other activities for thekids, and lucky door prizes businesses have donated for the adults.
“Each market is themed, with this market’s theme of coursebeing Christmas. Kids can dress up, get involved, and even win prizes.
“We’ve been asked many times to come out to the CentralHighlands – Emerald in particular.
“We intend on holding two more markets next year, and wewant to bring the markets to Moranbah. If we get community support, we will domore,” said Ms Armstrong.
