More Heat More Splash

The Central Highlands Regional Council is encouragingcommunity members to make a splash at one of the seven aquatic centres in theregion this summer.
Council’s General Manager Communities, John McDougall saidthat ‘access to quality aquatic facilities is so important in our climate’.
“Our centres offer something for all ages,” he said.
“Activities include swimming lessons from infants to adults,swimming clubs and our ever-popular water slides and play areas.
“Our facilities include the $14.7 million Blackwater AquaticCentre which was completed in 2017 as well as three other centres withOlympic-sized pools.”
Tourists have commented on the high quality of aquaticfacilities in the region.
The Emerald Aquatic Centre boasts a splash pad andwaterslides along with three pools and a spa.
Lessees of the centre, Dave Greaves and Tracy Spreadborough,also run a swim school at the complex.
The Capella Aquatic Centre offers a water slide, free barbeques,a playground, squash court and gymnasium.
The centre also has a learn-to-swim program, a squad program,and range of fitness classes including Crossfit and Adult SwimFit.
Springsure’s aquatic centre features a 25 metre six-lanepool, a wading pool, a kiosk and café which serves lunch.
The Springsure Aquatic Centre also offers children andadults learn-to-swim classes and squad swim training.
