Taxis back on the rank

Longreach Taxi indefinitelydiscontinued the service from March 24 due to coronavirus concerns as the taxideals exclusively with face-to-face contact with a multitude of people.

Owner of Longreach Taxis, RayPenny, said the decision to re-open the service was made for the benefit of thecommunity and with all health precautions in place.

“Longreach Taxis will adhere toall the Covid-19 restrictions currently in place,” Mr Penny said. “Whatever thelegislation says, that’s what we will do.

“This means that only one personor people from the same household can travel in the taxi at any one time. Handsanitiser will be available and it is strongly advised that it is used pertrip.

“We are still adhering to astrict cleaning schedule to provide a safe experience for everyone. Pleaseremember to respect our drivers and if the trip is not essential, just stayhome.”
