Welcoming Intercultural Neighbours awarded Australia Post Community Grant

This grant will fund their project ‘Promoting Cultural andLinguistically Diverse Migrant Women’s Resilience’.
The project provides art workshops to migrant women in theRockhampton region with a focus on strengthening per-support and promotingresilience.
Welcoming Intercultural Neighbours is one of 79 communityorganisations across the country to receive a 2020 Australia Post CommunityGrant of up to $10,000.
This year’s grants program aligns with Australia Post’scommitment to supporting mental health, funding projects that help improveconnection and mental wellbeing in local communities.
Australia Post Executive General Manager Nicole Sheffieldsaid she was proud to be awarding these funds during what has been anincredibly challenging year for communities across Australia.
“We know when we connect, we feel better,” Ms Sheffieldsaid.
More than $500,000 in total will be awarded tonot-for-profit community organisations across Australia, with the majority ofrecipients in rural and regional areas.
